Renee's Life Journey

The beautiful, vivacious, audacious, and fearless Renee LaSean Dorsey was born on January 14, 1989 in Washington, DC to Ronald White and Teba LaSean Dorsey.  Our beautiful Princess departed from her physical form on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

Renee was a rambunctious little girl. She was always busy with activities that allowed her to express her creative side.  She was a cheerleader for the Pop Warner Football and Cheer program.  She was a member of Center Stage Dance Inc., Waldorf, MD where she was acknowledged for being the Dancer of the Month.  She was a member of Westlake High School's step team. She sang on the children's choir at the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses.

She evolved into a fun loving, intelligent, and audacious woman.  She received her diploma from Westlake High School, Waldorf, MD. Renee enjoyed learning but her classroom was life.  She was a very hard worker.  She began working in retail after completing high school.  She went onto working in the banking industry.  However, she found her dream profession at Pepco.  She was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1900.   She was so excited about her career.  She talked about how she planned on working extremely hard at Pepco so she would eventually become a Manager and retire from the company.  She was known for her impeccable work ethic.

Renee loved her family.  She had a special relationship with her mother.

They were best friends.  She loved when her father referred to her as his "Queen". Renee had a special bond with her little sister, Tyra.  They were each other's confidants.  She shared special moments with her sisters, Rhonda, Mikeala, and bonus sister, Tyesha.  Renee absolutely adored her little brother, Michael Jr.  Renee's bonus father, Michael Sr., always talked to Renee about life.  Renee's bonus mother, Felicia, prayed with Renee on several occasions.

Renee loved her grandfather, Emerson.  As a little girl, Renee would climb on her grandfather's lap and hug his neck.  She had pure admiration for her grandmother, Jeryle.  She would play in her grandmother's make-up, hats, clothes, and shoes.

Renee was very fond of her grandmother, Elois. She spent many evenings when she would pick up Maximus after work with her grandmother talking about life experiences of being a single mother.

Renee loved her only son, Maximus.  She was so excited about being a mother.  She was determined to raise Maximus to be an intelligent, conscientious, and self-reliant man. She enjoyed reading, dancing, watching movies, and exploring life with Maximus.

Renee began dating the love of her life and fiancé, Brandon Ball, eight years ago.  They have known each other since they were teenagers. They always talked about getting married and starting a family.  In the summer of 2021, they began creating their family.  Renee and Brandon were so excited when they found out that they were expecting.  Their excitement intensified when they were informed that they were having a baby girl. Renee and Brandon talked for hours about their future goals for Maximus and Rue.

Renee will be remembered for her love of laughter, music, dance, books, movies, documentaries, fashion, black culture, social issues, and female empowerment.   Her karaoke performances with the Ball family are legendary.  Reenacting scenes from the movie Mommie Dearest with her mother kept them laughing for hours.  Renee loved how her father protected her. She also enjoyed taking rides while having conversations about her childhood with her father. Dancing with her sisters and joking with her brother gave Renee so much joy.

Renee is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Jeryle V. Dorsey. Left to cherish her memories are her two children, Maximus R.R. Dixon, and Rue Renee Dorsey-Ball; fiancé, Brandon Ball; parents, Ronald White and Teba L. Dorsey; bonus mother, Felicia White, and bonus father, Michael V. Barnett Sr.; three sisters, Tyra D. White, Rhonda Proctor, Mikaela White, bonus sister, Tyesha Henson; brother, Michael V. Barnett Jr.; grandfather, Emerson Dorsey, grandmother Elois A. Peyton and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
