STITH, REBECCA RUTH (AGE 65) OF ACCOKEEK, MD
Rebecca Ruth (Tomlin) Stith was born in Washington, DC on April 23, 1949 to Cliff Ralph and Mary Jo Tomlin. She entered quietly into eternal rest on Friday, March 20, 2015 at her residence in Accokeek, Maryland. Rebecca was affectionately called "Saturday" by family and friends.
Rebecca's employment experiences included several positions such as secretary at Chuck Levins, retail with Montgomery Ward and Silver Heron, however, her favorite job was with Miracle Method Home Improvement where she did bathroom remodeling. She loved working. Rebecca's hobbies were gardening, art and music. Her favorite music artists were The Beatles and Jimmy Hendrix, but, she enjoyed any music with meaning. Rebecca loved her family and traveling, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was most proud of her daughter and considered her greatest accomplishment was being the best mother she could. Rebecca was considered a flower child and attended Wood Stock Concerts. She was passionately anti-war and could be described as a "kick-ass, take names later, no bull, no nonsense kinda woman."
Left to cherish Rebecca's memory are her daughter; Michele Smith, son-in-law; Deon Morton, grandchildren; Tatianna and Devantae, step-grandson; Isaiah Wilkerson and friends; Jim and Sharon Hudson, Paul Bonbrest, Sean Robinson, Pic Flora and Rue Lam.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Family time will begin at 12:00 noon and a time of remembrance to follow at 12:30pm.
