Ralph Nevin Henry (Age 71) of Pomfret, Maryland.
Ralph Nevin Henry, son of the late William D. Henry and Roxie Thelma Henry was born on January 18, 1943. He made his heavenly transition on Monday, December 29, 2014 at home in Pomfret, Maryland. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Genander and Franklin Henry and a sister, Karen Marie Henry. He was born and raised in Hallsboro, NC.
Ralph graduated from Artesia High School, Hallsboro, NC, in 1961. He continued his education at Lincoln Technical Institute and received a Certification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration –HVAC.
Ralph moved to Washington, D.C., where he met and married Edith "Tootie" Blair. They were blessed with two daughters, Tanya Luckett and TuWanda Essiane.
Ralph started his career with Marsh's Brick Cleaning Company. He later transferred to Giant Food Warehouse as a Loader. A few years later he became employed by The District of Columbia Government as a Building Maintenance Engineer and continued his career at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
He loved taking his boat out to fish along with his best buddies. He would always say, THERE IS PEACE ON THE WATER.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Edith "Tootie", his two daughters, Tanya Luckett (David Sr.), TuWanda Essiane; five grandchildren, David Luckett, JR., Preston Blair Luckett, Taylor Luckett, Camden Luckett and Quincy Henry; brothers; John Henry (Emily) of Landover, MD, Marvin Henry (Etoria) of Capitol Heights, MD and James O. Henry (Lourine) of Landover, MD; sisters, Claudette Williams of Hallsboro, NC, and Helen Smith (Carroll) of Columbus, OH, and a host of family and friends.
