SAVOY, PHYLLIS MARIE (67) OF PORT TOBACCO, MARYLAND

Phyllis Savoy, age 67, of Port Tobacco, suddenly transitioned on December 7, 2023 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, LaPlata Maryland. Phyllis was born on November 7, 1956, in Hughesville, Maryland, to the late Irene and James Williams.

Phyllis was pre-deceased by her parents, brothers, George, William, Joseph and DeSales Coates, sisters, Catherine Mahoney and Anna Fay Briscoe and granddaughter, Meleigha Williams.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her daughter LaJaun, granddaughter Maleesah Williams, sisters, Agnes Wood and Edith Green, brother James Williams (Mildred), special friends JoAnn Jamieson and Latisha Yates and a host of other relatives and friends.

Phyllis attended Thomas Stone High School. She started working in the food service industry for the Head Start Program and then at Sagepoint Senior Living Services. She worked just over 30 years at Sagepoint and was loved and adored by her coworkers who affectionately gave her the nickname "Tulip."

She was always ready for a good game of Tick, the trips to the casinos, playing bingo and getting together on Sundays for Pokeno. She was the unofficial chef of the family, preparing meals for the holidays and special events. Her tuna salad was everyone's favorite. She also loved to hand dance, once she found a good partner, she was on the floor all night. You could also find her at Maleesah's events, loudly cheering her on.

She was most recently proud that she was 30 days free from smoking. A fact that she posted to Facebook, the day she transitioned.
