Obituary
Perry Alexander Johnson transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 19th at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, Maryland. He was born December 30, 1954, in Washington, DC. He was the youngest of six children with Austin L. Johnson and A. Rosetta Johnson as the proud parents.
Perry was educated in the Charles County School System. Upon graduation, he furthered his education at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland. He earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. While a student at Bowie, Perry played football and ran track for the Bowie State Bulldogs. He was employed with Maryland Federal Savings and Loan, New Carrollton, Maryland, as Branch Manager for 19 years. During his years of employment, he received numerous recognitions and awards.
Perry was a man of many talents, cooking, gardening, sewing, and a "Mr. Fix It"! He was a lover of animals, however, sports was his first love. Besides football and track, he played basketball and was an excellent bowler. You could always find Perry on any given Sunday sitting in front of the TV with his tray of snacks enjoying the game of football. What an enjoyable game it was when his favorite team, the Washington Redskins, were playing.
His memory will be cherished by his parents, Austin Leroy and A. Rosetta Johnson; Sisters, Karen Johnson, Kathy Jones (Larry), Janice Greenfield, Deborah Hinton (Ric); brother, Austin L. Johnson, Jr. (Laurie); Aunt, Stacey P. Robinson; Uncles, John Bond (Irene), Ernest Jerome Johnson; and Goddaughter, Carlise Greenfield Smith (Andre); long life devoted friends, Dale Marshall, cousin, Donald Makle and Junior Jenkins; many loving nieces and nephews and an extensive host of family and friends.
Viewing, 9am to 10:30am; Mass of Christian Burial, 11am, Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, Maryland. Interment, Private.
