Perry Edmund Bransome was born on September 12, 1959 in Washington, DC to Joan Ward Bransome and the late Edward J. Bransome. He departed this life after a long illness on August 16, 2023.

Perry was raised in Pomonkey, MD.  He attended public schools in Charles County and played various sports such as basketball, football and baseball.  While growing up, he played these same sports with family and friends. Perry graduated from Lackey High School in 1977 and entered the U.S. Army in 1979, serving until 1982. After military service, Perry held various positions to include the Naval Ordnance Station, Indian Head, a Paralegal for a period before pursuing a career working for the D.C. Department of Corrections which included working at Lorton Correctional Complex and The Youth Detention Center for 12 years. Perry then returned to work as an Explosive Operator at the Naval Ordnance Station until he retired in 2018.

Perry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. On December 21, 1989 Perry married Patricia Thomas. From this union they had three sons; Parris, Pierre (Shay) and Preston. Perry was proud of his grandson Makarri and enjoyed spending as much time with him as he could. Perry loved and cherished his family, who in return respected and deeply loved him.

Perry loved to travel and take his family on vacations and fishing trips. He found immense pleasure in cooking and baking, watching football and basketball on TV with his family, hosting and attending cookouts, card parties and birthday parties. He always was the one to offer to bring the deviled eggs for any occasion. Perry was known for his green thumb and cared for many plants around the house. He enjoyed trying to play tennis with his uncle Jimmy and recently got into learning how to play pickleball. Perry also enjoyed riding his E-bike around Charles County, visiting various parks in the area.

Perry leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother Joan; sons Parris, Pierre (Shay) and Preston; grandson Makarri; ex-wife Patricia Thomas;  brothers Jeffrey (Maxine) and Victor; sisters Janice, Jasmine, and Jill; uncles Gerald Datcher (Mildred) and James Ward (Davella); aunt Gloria Jefferson; great aunt Elnora Tingle and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
