Parker, Peggy Joyce (Williams) Age 77 of Washington, D.C.

Peggy Joyce Williams Parker was born February 4, 1937 to the late George D. Williams and Gladys Lynch Williams in Oak City, North Carolina. She was the third child of nine children.

She graduated from the Martin County public school system, West Martin High School, Oak City, North Carolina.

Peggy joined St. Mark Baptist Church of Oak City at an early age and attended faithfully until she relocated to Washington, D.C. There, in Washington, D.C., she found a new church home at Peace Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail.

Peggy departed this life on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Parker-Darby, brothers, Preston, George A., Norman and James Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Michelle Parker, son, Mark T. Parker, granddaughter (like a daughter), Tonya Parker, grandchildren and great grandchildren, three sisters, Margie Holly (Melvin), Gladys Owens and Barbara Brasher (Larnell), brother, Raymond Williams (Marilyn), a host of nieces and nephews, aunt, Sarah Slade of Parmele, North Carolina, two sisters-in-law, Ollie Williams of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Ella Williams of Lakewood, Washington, a friend, Willa Fields and cousins.

Viewing, 9:30 a.m. until time of Service, 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at Peace Baptist Church, 712 18th Street, N.E. Washington, D.C. 20002.

Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, Maryland.
