PEGGY YVONNE ATTERBERRY-MOSLEY, AGE 76, OF ACCOKEEK, MARYLAND

Peggy Y. Evans Atterberry-Mosley suddenly transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the age of 76 years old.  She was born to Andrew and Winifred Evans (Sechrest) in Bryans Road, Maryland on June 6, 1945.  She was raised by her grandparents, James and Elnora Clark.

As a young child she attended and became a member of Metropolitan United Methodist Church.

Peggy received her education in the Charles County Education system and graduated from Pomonkey High School in 1962. She continued her education at University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics.  Later she received her Masters degree from Antioch College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Peggy taught in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania school system as a home economics educator.  After relocating to Maryland, she worked as an Intake Supervisor for Social Services.  Her greatest joy came from being a source of hope and wisdom for all the students that passed through the Charles County Teenage Parenting Program.  She retired in 1996.

Peggy was a "Woman of Style," with a smooth, pleasant, and easy-going personality.  Over the years she enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, garage sales, thrifting, eating seafood, traveling, meeting new people and playing slots.  She made numerous friends wherever she went and will truly be missed by everyone that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; former husbands, William Atterberry and Howard Mosley; brothers, Cardell Sechrest and Tyrone M. Waller.

Peggy leaves to cherish her memories, two loving and devoted children, daughter, Natasha Atterberry, son, Howard Mosley; brother, Robert (Edelyn) Key; sister, Jean (Charles) Epps-Tate; aunt, Willa Mae (Arnold) Parker; godsons, Clark Boyer and Bryan Epps and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor, Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
