Smith, Pearl Bertha (Age 83) of LaPlata, MD

On Monday, September 19, 2016, Pearl B. Smith entered into eternal rest at Genesis Rehabilitation Center in Waldorf, Maryland.

Pearl was born on May 31, 1933 to the late Ben and Hazel Gutrick.

She received her education through the Charles County Public School System.

Pearl met and married the love of her life, Sylvester Smith. They were married for sixty years. From that union they were blessed with eight children.

She accepted the Lord as her personal savior at a very early age and was an active member of the Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Pearl worked and retired from the Department of the Navy. Her passions were cooking, baking cakes and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, Pearl joins in glory her husband, Sylvester; and four children, Roger, Michael, Brenda and Karen.

She leaves to cherish many memories, four sons; Carl (Angie), Stanley (Connie), Sylvester, Jr., (Felicia) and Kevin (Freda); six sisters, Annie Warren (Nathaniel), Vyria Cobey (James), Geraldine Ward, Betty Ross, Shirley Lewis and Alberta Branson; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Her viewing will be held from 9am until time of service 11am on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 8750 Gilroy Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662. Interment Church Cemetery.
