IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paulette
Baiden-Adams
January 11, 1954 – March 5, 2020
Paulette Adams was born on January 11, 1954 to the late James McDuffie and Matilda Fuller McDuffie in Washington, DC. She was raised in a loving and godly home along with her ten older siblings: James, Mary, Annie, Mildred (d), Frances, Betty, George, Lola (d), Rosetta and Sheila. Paulette attended Washington, D.C. public schools, graduating from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in 1973.
Paulette would later meet and marry Clayton Mercer. From this union came her two daughters, LaShante' and Dionne. She was also blessed with two grandsons whom she loved dearly, Diondre and Jai'Din, both of whom she affectionately referred to as her 'Pooh Pooh.' Paulette was fun loving and enjoyed family gatherings, travel and league bowling. She was also known to enjoy shopping. Paulette worked in the healthcare industry at the Washington Hospital Center until her early retirement.
Paulette's retirement opened the door for her to move into full time ministry, Pastoring Love of Christ Ministries, which was later renamed Jubilee Outreach Ministries of America (JOMA). JOMA became a haven for many community children in the South East neighborhood where it was located and Paulette was the first Pastor many of them would have. Her influence was very impactful in their lives. JOMA would travel, often in fellowship with other ministries, to Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Indiana, and Virginia.
Paulette would go on to travel, not only the country, but the world, evangelizing. Appointed as an international Evangelist, she traveled to Haiti, Nigeria, Lagos, London and Spain, to name a few places. Paulette was used mightily by God and walked boldly in Christ as His Apostle, Prophetess, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. She would also author a book, "The Making of a Powerful Woman," that would bless many and earn her a Gospel Independent Grammy (GIG) Award. Paulette was many things to many people, but above all, Paulette was a wise woman, a woman of great faith, a warrior in Christ.
Paulette leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, LaShante' Little (Jerry) of Midvale, Utah and Dionne Mercer of Bryans Road, Maryland; her two grandsons, Diondre Mercer and Jai'Din Little; her siblings, James (Joyce) of Washington, D.C., Mary Jefferies of Rialto, California, Annie Sessions, Rosedale, New York; Frances Wimbs and Betty Slydell, both of Jacksonville, Floria; George (Sheila) and Rosetta Lawrence (Willie) both of Brandywine, Maryland; and Sheila Holland (Tyrone) of Monroe, Louisianna and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
