Paul McKinley Washington, age 92, of Marbury, Maryland
Paul McKinley Washington "Mac" departed this life and entered into eternal life with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 22,2020.
Mac was born August 11, 1928 in Charles County, Maryland. He was the last living child of the late George and Eleanor Washington, Sr.
Mac was educated in the Charles County public school system where he attended Pomonkey High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army. After an Honorable Discharge, he was employed at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, Maryland. He retired after many years of devoted service. Mac also worked for the Charles County public school system.
He was a devout Catholic. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Violet Johnson at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on February 14,1953.
Mac was a very outgoing, compassionate, and caring person. He never hesitated to offer his time to help family, friends and neighbors in need. He gladly performed various tasks for them such as, grocery shopping, chauffeuring them to hospital and doctor trips, voting and any other transportation needs they may have had.
He was an avid and die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed teasing family about the Redskins. He also enjoyed shooting pool with his nephews, Melvin and Theron, and watching soap operas with his wife, Dorothy prior to her passing. Also, let's not forget how much Mac loved the large cookouts for family and friends with Herbert Savoy grilling those ribs and his sidekick, James Penny wasn't too far from him.
In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Dorothy Washington, brothers and sisters, George Washington Jr, Robert Washington, Walter Washington, Richard Washington, Harry Washington, Curtis Washington, Fern Simmons, Phyllis Woods, Helen Waring, Mary Washington-Frazier, and twin grandchildren, William and Tiola Day.
