Obituary

Swann, Paul Gregory, 74 of Waldorf, Maryland.

Paul Gregory Swann was born to Ruth Theresa Swann and the late James Russell Swann, Sr. on September 2, 1947, in Bryans Road, Maryland.  He was affectionately known as "Stormy" to his family and friends. Stormy peacefully transitioned to eternal life on Friday, November 5, 2021. He was number 3 of 17 children born to his parents. Stormy received his education through the Charles County Public School System.

Stormy began working early as a teenager at a car wash and in construction, building houses. He started his career at the Naval Ordinance Station in Indian Head, Maryland, St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C., and later transferred to the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C., where he retired after 30 years of service.

Stormy married his true love, Betty Jean Day on April 14, 1967. This union spanned for 54 years and resulted in 6 children, Tina, Paul (LaShawn), Teya (Mark), Gregory, Carla and Shawn (LaTilya); 11 grandchildren: Christopher, Christeya, Joshua, Ashley, Deanna, D'Marius, Tiffany, LaTara, Jailon, Malcolm and Carrington; and 7 great grandchildren, Khyu, Kaden, Brooklynn, Parker, Brandon, Braylin and Peyton.

Stormy enjoyed spending time with his wife, Betty, his children and grandchildren at his home, whenever they were together for any occasion. He also loved spending time with his siblings, nieces, nephews and his mother, Ruth. He had a contagious personality and always made people around him laugh. He was definitely the jokester of the family, had a love for car racing, and a die-hard "Dallas Cowboys" fan.

In addition to his mother, wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, left to cherish his memories are his aunt Adelaide, 11 siblings; Jean (George), Buzzy (LaVette), Arthur (Nan), Rania, Baron (Cheryl), Jason, Roslyn (Arthur), Paula, Ricky, Robin (Rick), and Hope; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Russell Swann, Sr., brothers, Dennis, Dean and Dwight Swann, sister, Virginia Lee Phillips, granddaughter, Sharia Day, nephews Shayne and Tyrell Swann, as well as in-laws, Patsy and Bernard Day, and Leroy Travers.

Stormy was greatly loved by his family and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Our greatest consolation is knowing that he is finally at peace. He was truly a special and generous person to all who knew him. Stormy, we thank God that you passed through our lives. We will miss you dearly, never forget you and always love you as you have always loved us.
