Obituary

Patricia Ann (Gutrick) Smith, 66 of Bryans Road, Maryland.

On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, Patricia Ann Smith, more affectionately called "Pat" peacefully transitioned to eternal life.

Patricia Ann Gutrick Smith was born on April 13, 1955, in Washington, DC.  She was the daughter of the late Clarence Gutrick and Lorraine Helen Curtis Gutrick.  Pat, their beloved daughter, was the oldest of their three children.  In the late hours of the night, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, the LORD looked over Pat's life and we believe said, "Well done, My good and faithful servant" He called her home and her new journey began.

Pat was educated in the Charles County public school system.  She graduated from Henry E. Lackey High School in Indian Head, MD.  While attending high school, she excelled in numerous sporting activities, but by far her favorite was Soft Ball.  Pat was well known as a super power hitter and golden glove third baseman.

After graduation, Pat shared her talents with her first employer, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Washington, D.C.  Continuing in the medical field, she then worked at La Plata Hospital in the Environmental Services Division, La Plata, MD.

Pat enjoyed playing pool, partying, and bowling.  She would show up to the pool tournaments with her "personal" pool-stick and a smile!  The Three Amigos – Pat, Rose, and Flo were known for bringing fun to every party.  Pat took pride playing in the Waldorf Bowling league with her mother, Lorraine.

Pat and Bobby Smith met in 1990 at the Naval Officer's Club.  They married on April 5, 1997.  Throughout their marriage, they celebrated many milestones with their grandchildren and extended family. They loved them dearly.

Some of her favorite pastimes were watching movies with her grandchildren, cooking for her family and friends, and reading different types of books.  Pat liked to collect recipes and was happy to share her delicious creations with all she loved.  Her cheese ball, ribs, and vegetable dips were famous!  She always kept her camera loaded and ready to capture and share the memories.

Pat received great joy watching her grandchildren grow and loved the water.  She took her family on beach vacations, pool activities, and water park outings.  Pat was always willing to include other children and was never too busy to show her loving heart.  Her love of the water also included fishing and crabbing.

Pat was deeply devoted to her family.  You could always depend on her for encouragement, love and support.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Bobby Smith, loving daughter: Denika L. Gutrick; devoted brothers: Clarence B. Gutrick (Marcia), Kevin B. Gutrick; cherished grandchildren: Demetria L. Gutrick, Qiuana S. Gutrick; great-granddaughter: Diamond A. Gutrick; supportive nephew: Phillip T. Watson, caring nieces: Jasmine L. Gutrick, Adriana D. Gutrick, Alexys D. Gutrick, and Tyra A. Gutrick; loving great-nephew Pierre A. Cheney; and a host of family and friends.
