Obituary

Patricia "Pattie" Hart of Port Tobacco, MD transitioned on December 25, 2025.

Her Journey

Patricia Ann Jamieson Hart more affectionately called "Pattie" was born, January 25, 1951 in Washington, D.C.  She was the baby of the sixteen children born to Harris Samuel Jamieson and Margaret Mary Bush Jamieson.  Pattie grew up and spent her entire life in Port Tobacco, Maryland.  She attended Port Tobacco Elementary School, Bel Alton Junior Senior High School, Milton Somers Middle School, and graduated from La Plata High School.  After High School, following in the footsteps of her sisters Margaret and Anita, she attended and completed the Early Childhood Education Program at Charles County Community College, receiving a Certificate in Early Childhood Education.  Pattie spent her 42-year career at Mount Hope Nanjemoy Elementary School in Nanjemoy, Maryland. During her career as an Assistant Education Instructor, she knew that all students could not grasp the concept of information in a textbook, so she used arts and crafts to help students understand the information that was in the textbooks.

Pattie had a special bond with her sisters, Juanita and Bernadette, who in later years, she called 'Lulu', all of them living on the same road. Pattie enjoyed working with her older brother, Vincent, at the Bar-B-Que Pit. She enjoyed hanging out with her sister-in-law, JoAnn Jamieson and cousin, Agnes Williams. In her earlier years, she enjoyed hanging out with her nieces, Judy, Tanja "Tanny" and Lydia "Fuzzy and/or Booney" and her cousin, Margaret Williams "Fluggie". She allowed the girls freedom to express themselves, and even formed a girl's bowling team. One of Pattie's hobbies was sewing, which didn't last too long. However she did sew long enough to make pink and blue jumpsuits for the "girls bowling team". Pattie was the family historian, and always called EVERYONE on their birthdays and anniversaries, singing to you if you were lucky. Pattie was verbally affectionate and playful, always giving you a hug with her words. She was famous for telling the kids she has 'eyes like a hawk' and that she has 'eyes in the back of her head' and we all knew what that meant!

Pattie was a lifetime parishioner of St. Catherine's Catholic Church of McConchie, rarely missing a Saturday Mass. She along with her cousin, Mary Patricia Williams, aka Patsy, were outspoken parishioners when it came to the history of the church. Not only was Pattie the family historian, she was quick to correct anyone who was unsure of the church's lineage and history. She was baptized, received the sacrament of holy communion and confirmation and married in her beloved church.

Pattie met this handsome man by the name of Randolph Joseph Hart, Jr., aka Jeremiah, fell in love and married him on July 28, 1973. A son, Randolph Joseph Hart, III and a daughter, Senika Margaret Hart, were born to this union.  Pattie loved her children and used every moment as a teachable moment.  There was no such thing as "No School".  There was ALWAYS school. Ask her grandkids how they spent their summers…

Pattie transitioned peacefully on Christmas night, Thursday, December 25, 2025. As the song says, 'It was a Silent night, a Holy night, the Son of God, love's pure light. She saw the Radiant beams from thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace. Jesus, Lord, at her birth of a new life! Heaven and the Angels came to say, sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace'!

Pattie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Spring Gray, parents, Harris and Margaret Jamieson, father & mother-in-law, Randolph Sr. and Mary Louise Hart; siblings, Theresa Quarles, Margaret Thornton; Vincent Jameson, Anita Jamieson, Joseph Melvin Jamieson, Juanita Yates, Delores Jamieson, Henry Jamieson, Evelyn Jamieson and Charles "Bernard" Jamieson; brothers-in-laws James Quarles, Augustus Proctor, Sr. and Leon Thornton; sisters-in-law, Pauline Hart Thomas, Jeanette Hart Fisher and Brenda Jamieson; nieces, Judy Quarles and Kimberly Jamieson Walker; nephews, Joseph M.
