PATRICIA'S LIFE JOURNEY…
Patricia Jane Baker was born December 23, 1945 to George Baker & Maxine Marlowe in Asheville, North Carolina. She graduated from Stephens Lee High School in Asheville, North Carolina.
In 1962 she traveled to New York City with a family member and decided to stay in Harlem, New York. She started working in the textile industry then moved onto the Security industry where she worked as an Armed Security Transporter, Dispatcher and progressively became a Shift Manager.
On May 10, 1966 Patricia gave birth to her only child, Terrence Michael Baker in Harlem Hospital, New York City.
Patricia and her son lived in Harlem for a few years then moved to "The Bronx", New York, where she settled for the next 10 years. In 1982, Patricia moved back to Harlem and stayed until she left New York to move to Maryland in the mid-1990's.
In Maryland she worked for Sting Security where she became friends with Thea Christian, presently known as Thea Long. She also met her brother in Christ, Mr. Leal Brown. Thea invited her to the Lord's Church of Restoration. Patricia loved the church and quickly became a member.
She was a faithful member and showed significant growth in her spiritual life. She was a Mother in the Church and endearing herself to all that came in her presence through her faith, prayers and love. Everyone gravitated toward "Mother Pat" as she had that special something that God put inside her to be able to reach anyone.
Patricia retired in 2017 and devoted her time to the Church and babysitting young children of all ages. Of all the jobs she held, this was the highlight of her career.
Mother Pat loved her family and constantly gave them words of wisdom and encouragement. She was a perpetual fountain of love.
Mother Pat is survived by her son, Terrence Michael Baker, her sister, Ms. Emma Joseph, her brother in Christ, Mr. Leal J. Brown, Daughter -in-law, Mrs. Rebecca Manu Baker, Grandaughter Mrs. Teofilia Acheampong Lemke, Grandson, Mr. Nana-Yaw Acheampong, Grandson-in-law, Mr. Norman Lemke, and Great Grandaughter, baby Njeri Ama Acheampong, and her Church family at the Lord's Church of Restoration. Mother Pat will be extremely missed by all.
