OBITUARY
Ms. Pamela Burgess, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, entered into eternal peace surrounded by all those who loved her deeply, on Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Virginia.
Pamela was born on July 3rd, 1959, a daughter of the late Wallace D. and Mamie L. Burgess. She worked for the Federal Government, Department of Justice - Bureau of Prisons as a Human Resources Specialist and Subject Matter Expert in Payroll. In October 1996, Pamela married Reginald Robinson who she loved and cherished. Recently she decided to move on to the next chapter of her life, and was excited about her new employment at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), which she was very excited to begin, and was sadly short lived.
In her travels, she became a lifelong member of "The Church of the Great Commission" and served as an active member of the Share Program which helped to feed families in need working with outreach to the community. Pamela had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. Even in her final hours, she was able to bless 17 lives through organ donation.
Pamela was a long time resident of Washington, D.C., where she lived for many years. She received her formal education through the Prince George's County Public School System where she excelled in her studies and entered Prince Georges Community College at the age of 16 where she studied Accounting. She loved to meet new people and enjoyed having a good time laughing and traveling; trips that involved spending time with her grandchildren which led her travels from Hawaii, Florida, and Virginia.
She is preceded in death by both her mother Mamie L. Burgess and father Wallace D. Burgess and grandparents James and Dorothy Bolling, and Linwood Ruffin Sr. In addition, she leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; loving son, Kareem Burgess, step son, Bryan Robinson, Ex-Husband, Reginald Robinson, six grandchildren, Rashad, Elijah, Tianna, Makayla and Ava Burgess and Cornell Robinson; Sisters, Melinda Holloman, Brenda Burgess, Lakesha Ruffin; Aunts, Angelene Ruffin Terry, Brother-In-Law, Edward Holloman, Aunt, Canless Key, Pamela Terry; Uncles, James Jr., Robert and Johnny Bolling, Linwood Ruffin, Jr. and Chester Terry; Nieces, Natasha White, Jherica Burgess, Sharneka Jeffries and Alaysia Holloman; Nephews, Richard Jeffries, Tavian Ruffin, Joshua Contee, Ishiah Holloman, Aiden, Major and Markus Jeffries, family friends, Ashley Cromwell and Tyler Shephard and a host of Cousins, Family, and Friends.
Please don't cry for me, for I have earned my wings and lying in the master's arms. Don't cry for me, for I am in no more pain. I am alright and with my parents and family who were waiting for me.
