OBITUARY
Monica Ann (Mousie) King was born on November 6, 1961, to the late Edward William (Sonny) King and Ruth Ann (Ferrell) King. She was called to her eternal resting place on Monday, January 10, 2022, at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland.
Monica grew up in Bryans Road, Maryland, and received her education in Charles County Public Schools, graduating from Henry E. Lackey High School. Monica furthered her education at the College of Southern Maryland and later pursued her passion to work with children as an Instructional Assistant.
Monica accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a dedicated and devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Bryans Road, Maryland. She accepted the gift of Salvation and served faithfully on numerous Ministries at Macedonia.
She attended Sunday Church School and Worship Service regularly and was a member of the Missions Team Ministry and Women of Faith Ministry. She enjoyed Bible Study and always had questions to get a better understanding of God's Word. Monica's favorite scripture was Acts 20:22-35. She also was a huge fan of Joyce Myers.
Monica always kept a beautiful smile on her face, was always laughing and full of joy. Her smile would brighten anyone's day. Among many hobbies, Monica loved to dance. Hand dancing and line dancing were among her favorites. Always knowing the latest line dances, she was the dancing machine at all the family events and functions. Monica loved her family. She never missed a family reunion or any family outings. Being around family was one of her greatest joys. In addition to her family, Monica adored her loving dog (Alf). She loved taking him for walks. Alf was her heart and was very protective over her just like she was with him.
Monica loved to watch TV. Her favorite TV shows were Little House on the Prairie, My 600lb Life, and Cops. She was also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching the games with her family and friends.
Monica is reunited in heaven with her parents, Edward William (Sonny) King and Ruth Ann (Ferrell) King; grandparents, Aletha Dixon, John Ferrell, Earl W. King, and Mary L. King; brothers, Shawn Johnson and Delvon King; aunts, Vera Mae Chase and Everdene Jordan; uncles, James Willie, Isador, Roger, and Ricky Cox and special friend, Lavelle Chisley .
She is survived by her loving and devoted only daughter, Jessica Ford (Brian Dorsey); brothers, William (Petie), Andre and Corey (Contessa) King; sister, Karla King; uncle, Calvin Dixon; aunt, Suzzette Cox; great-aunts, Alice Eudora Chisley and Mary Rebecca King; godmother, Barbara Jean Burroughs; goddaughter, Larryka Johnson and special friends, Pamela Johnson, Loretta Simms and Phyllis Walton, and a host of family and friends.
Monica leaves many memories behind for her family and friends to forever cherish. She will be truly missed by many.
