Melvin Eugene Hicks departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.  He was born in Newport, MD on March 21, 1957.  He was known to family and friends as "Bo".  He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Hicks, two sisters; Gwendolyn (John) Chase and Sandra (Terry) Swann, one brother, Joseph Dwayne Hicks, two nephews Ryan (Kia) Hicks and Terrence Swann, one niece Chloe Swann, one great niece Briana Hicks, two aunts, one uncle and a host of other relatives and friends.

His viewing will be held at 12:00 pm until time of Service 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 26, 2018  at Thornton's Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640.  Interment, Trinity Church Cemetery, 9560 Trinity Church Road, Newport, Maryland 20646.
