Gutrick, McKinley E. "Sonny", 83, of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

McKinley E. "Sonny" Gutrick, departed this life on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Sonny was born, October 27, 1934. He attended public schools in Charles County, Maryland and was employed by the Board of Education of Charles County for over 30 years.

Sonny was baptized at Mount Hope Baptist Church at an early age. He had a special way of sharing God's blessings in a loving way.

He was best known for telling stories about the years gone by. He would always say, "Dukie, did I tell you about the time I was down Johnny Wilson's, or Katie Willett's?" He could not remember what he had for breakfast, but he would remember what happened 60 years ago. He enjoyed shooting pool with his friends and watching "them" DALLAS Cowboys and cleaning his Cadillacs. He looked forward to the first Wednesday of every month, he would say, "time for the casino". He was not a gambler, but loved the women on the bus.

He never met a stranger and treated everyone like family.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted daughter, Michele Adams; son-in-law, David M. "Tom" Adams, Sr.; one grandson, David M. "Tommie" Adams, Jr. (Robin); two granddaughters, Cherrell R. Keys (Shawnell) and Tonnia T. Milstead; seven great-grandchildren, Davon Adams, Jordynn Adams, Jazmynn Adams, Austin Keys, Dallas Keys, Dashawn Milstead and Da'Andre Milstead; one sister, Blanche Waters; three godchildren, Torraise Posey, Mark Posey and Janae Matthews; devoted brother-in-law, Rudolph C. Posey, Sr.; sister-in-law, Pauline T. Posey; devoted friend, Ralph Kelton and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marinetta S. Gutrick, mother, Emma Gutrick, father, Samual Gutrick, sister, Ruth Posey and brothers-in-law, William A. Posey and Lemual Waters.

His services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.  Viewing, 9am until time of Service, 11am.  His Interment will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
