Obituary

Ford, Mary Christine Wells (Age 66) of White Plains, Maryland.

Mary Christine Ford, affectionately known as "Tine" or "Tina" departed this life on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Born May 23, 1947 in Mount Victoria, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Robert and the late Margaret Wells. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Ford; son, Terrence Wells; and brother, Ronnie Wells.

Tine attended the public schools of Charles County and was a domestic worker for 40 or more years. She retired because of poor health.

She was a faithful member of Shiloh Community United Methodist Church and served on the Usher Board. Tine loved her church. Before her health failed, she would be at church every Sunday morning. If you were in the hospital or sick at home, you could always count on a visit or phone call. She enjoyed all of her nieces and nephews but she had a special place in her heart for John John and Asia.

Tine was a "die hard" Dallas fan and when they won, she couldn't wait to get to the Elks Home to gloat to the Redskins fans.

Tine was a loving sister, cousin, niece, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving sisters, Annie Mae Hemsley, Margaret Tyler, Paulette Thomas (James R., Jr.), Elaine Johnson (Oynaks) Joan and Mary D. Wells, Sheila Thomas and Alice Thomas (Vincent), two loving brothers; Joe (June) and James (Freda); six sisters-in-law, Arnell Edelen, Shelva Byrd, Jean Washington, Patricia Smith, Mary Liza Washington and Cecelia Thompson; three brothers-in-law, Barkeley, Jeffrey and Wayne Washington; a special uncle, James Barnes (Betty); two loving aunts, Margaret Powell and Dorothy Wells, twelve nieces, nine nephews, two cousins who were like a brother and sister, Ed Hemsley (Bea) and Ellen Briscoe (Gonza); god-son, John E. Barnes, five friends who were like sisters, Theresa Cole, Mary Waugh, Mary J. Wells, Ada Johnson and Margaret Wheeler, and a host of other cousins, great nieces, nephews and friends.

Viewing, 9am until time of Service, 11am, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Shiloh Community United Methodist Church, 12695 Shiloh Church Road, Newburg, Maryland. Interment, Church Cemetery.
