At an early age Viola accepted Christ as her Savior and joined St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pomfret, Md. where she attended until her health failed and she was unable to attend. She was the second oldest member in the church.
Viola as she was known to many was a lovable person. Though she was stubborn, she had a great love for her family. She loved watching TV: Let's Make a Deal, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Love Boat was her favorite. After being unable to live alone, she moved in with her nephew Keith and wife Dolly Swann. While living with them, she grew very fond of their dog, Champ, so much so she gave him a name of her own. "Buddy" She called him. She would feed Buddy every time she ate rather it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. She even shared her snacks with him. Buddy was very protected of her. You couldn't come in the house any kind of way and get close to her. She also gave their son Malachi a name of his own, "Lamont," when asked why you call him that she would say "well he answers to it". So since he answered that was his name.
