Mary Jeannette Posey, 75 of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

Mary Jeannette Posey, affectionately known to many as "Jeannette or Jeanne" was born to the late Edward and Zelda Posey on September 30, 1940 in Nanjemoy, MD. She peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Myrtle Beach, SC, at Grand Strand Medical Center.

Mary Jeannette Posey was baptized at Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Jeannette was educated in the Charles County Public School System. She worked as a housekeeper for many years with different families.

Jeanne was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who loved her family and friends dearly. A devoted mother who took special pride in her children, grand and great grandchildren who were her life. She always had a pleasant smile and kind words to say.

Jeanne loved to host family and friends at her home, while playing cards she would often say "baby need new shoes". She enjoyed having barbeques, and holiday family gatherings. Jeanne loved watching football especially when the Dallas Cowboys were beating the Washington Redskins. Jeanne was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. She also enjoyed getting her hair and nails done.

Jeanne is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and James Posey, one sister, Elaine Janet Posey, daughter Karen Michelle and grandson, Shawn Posey, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories special Aunt Clarice, sisters; Rose Lee Rosier, Mary Milstead, Estelle Posey, Doretha Waters (David) and brother Jerry Posey; children, Clarence "Wuss" (Yolanda), Gary "Honey Bay", Jeannette "Sue", Vincent "Pete", Glenda, Gregory, Grandchildren; Lavoncey, Shavone', Lonnette "Pumpkin", Tori, Cleandria "Clee Clee ", Cla'Andre "Dre", great grandchildren; Shawn Jr. "Big Boy', Lavonta, DeShon, London, Shaun, special niece, Sharonnette "Mae Mae", special great nephew, Damion Waters, goddaughter, Khania, special friend, Barbara and a host of family and friends.

Viewing, 9:00 am until 10:45 am, Service, 11:00 am, Friday, September 9, 2016 at Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 8705 Gilroy Road, Nanjemoy, Maryland. Interment, Church Cemetery.
