Mary Gladys (Johnson) Mack, 94 of (Pomonkey), Indian Head, Maryland.

On Monday August 16th 2021, Mary Gladys Mack, affectionately known as "little momma", peacefully transitioned to eternal rest in her home. Gladys was born on November 27, 1926 to the late Phillip and Cora Ann Johnson. She was married to the late Leroy Robert Mack Sr., from this union ten children were born, Russell Sr., Melvin, Pamela, Ronald, Gloria, Vernon, Darlene, Anthony, Timothy and Theresa.

Gladys was educated in the Charles County School system. She was an active member of Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic church until her health no longer afforded her to attend services. She was a hard- working mother who worked various jobs while helping to raise her children. Gladys later retired from the Naval Ordnance Station in 1988 after serving 26 years.

Gladys enjoyed cooking her famous fried chicken and potato salad, shopping, traveling with the Elite Travel Club and visiting various casino particularly Las Vegas. Her happiest times were those spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria, four sons, Russell Johnson Sr. (Ruth), Ronald, Vernon and Timothy; one granddaughter, Lawanda Cora Day, one sister, Dorothy Washington (Paul), three brothers, Chester Swann, Van Swann (Caroline) and Francis Swann.

Gladys leaves to cherish three daughters, Pamela Day, Darlene Mack, Theresa Posey (Theron) and two sons, Melvin (Thelery) and Anthony (Angela); grandchildren; Ninochika Johnson, Lisa Wilder, Lesley Whitmire, Lynn David, Russell Johnson Jr., Rita Mack, Kimberly Mack, Adrienne Mack, Lawrence Day, Lionel Day, Leonard Day, Leroy Haile, Jessica Davis, Tanika Posey, Theron Posey Jr. and Trevon Posey; 33 great- grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren, two great-great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2021, until Celebration of Life, 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Indian Head, Maryland.  Interment, St. Charles Cemetery, Glymont, Maryland.
