Obituary

Mary Jean Lee (Age 75) of Fort Washington, Maryland.

Mary Jean Lee was born in Charles County, Maryland on February 25, 1946, to Elizabeth Jane Ford and Herman Alphonza Middleton.  Mary was affectionately known by her friends and family as "Jean".  She peacefully departed this life on August 20, 2021 at her home in Fort Washington, Maryland. Out of her past union with Dennis E. Lee she had two children, Dennis T. Lee and Pamela Lee.

Jean was educated in Charles County public schools.  She attended Bel Alton High School in Bel Alton, Maryland.  Jean had a passion for cooking where she worked numerous Food Service positions:  Edge Mead, Gwynn Park High School and Andrews Child Development Center.  Jean worked diligently over 30 years of service at Malcolm Grow Hospital Center in Environmental Services before retiring.

Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished.  Jean enjoyed Hand Dancing and cutting a rug to the Oldies but Goodies at the "Quonset Night Club" known as "The Legends."  She also enjoyed going to the casino playing slots and bingo at the Senior Center.

Preceding her in death; Elizabeth Jane Ford (Mother), Herman Alphonza Middleton (Father), Ann Ford (Sister) and Clifton Stewart (Nephew and godson) known to many by "Pixie and Boss Man."

She leaves to cherish her memories, Dennis T. Lee (Mavis), Pamela S. Lee, Robert Holton (Thelma), grandchildren, great grandchildren, devoted nephew, Adam Holton, cousin Mary Lou Lee, special friends, Linda Graham, Mako Jackson, Mary Williams, Angie Ford and Gerald Windslow.

Viewing, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, until Celebration of Life, 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Indian Head, Maryland.
