IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Eleanor
Curtiss
January 21, 1959 – October 10, 2017
Mary Eleanor (Williams) Curtiss, affectionately known to family and friends as "Little Mary" was born on January 21, 1959 in Welcome, Maryland to the late Nathaniel and the late Catherine (Bean) Williams. She departed this life for eternal peace on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. In addition to her parents, she joins in glory, sons, Derrick Michael Williams and Christopher A. "Chipper" Jamieson.
Mary grew up in Welcome, Maryland and was raised by her aunt, Mary Granton. She attended Charles County Public Schools and was baptized at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. After school, she followed her passion for cooking. She worked at numerous restaurants, but ultimately found her home cooking for Famous Dave's in Waldorf, MD. When she wasn't cooking for Famous Dave's, she would often cater for others.
In addition to cooking, Mary enjoyed making jewelry and holiday crafts; playing Bingo and visiting the Casinos. Mary was a "talker" and could hold you captive in a conversation for hours. She spent her quiet time fishing (which she loved). She also loved her little white truck which she could be seen driving around town. Most importantly, she loved and lived for her grandchildren.
Left to cherish many fond memories are her husband of 35 years Keenan "Bo" Curtiss; sons, Desmond S. Williams and Keenan Curtiss (Maleesha); grandchildren, Sierra Dyson, Omari Curtiss, Dillan Jamieson, Diamond, Isaiah, Samuel and Jacob Anderson, Arriona, Desmond, DaKari and Ayce Williams; sisters, Elizabeth and Peggy Williams; brothers, John and Michael (Brenda) Bean and Jeffrey Williams, sisters-in-law, Janelle and Tabitha Curtiss and Cecilia Garrett; brothers-in-law, Joseph, Kelvin, Travis and Gary Curtiss; aunts, Frances Bean, Mary Coates, Margaret Medley; uncle, Virgil "Peter" Williams (Sharon); nieces, LaRhonda, LaTrice, Terrylynn and RonNeka; nephews, Marco Williams and Perry Cooper. Also surviving is a special friend since childhood, Cora Collins Thompson, special cousins, Audrey Dyson and Richard "Greg" Williams, godfather, Vincent Jameson, Bingo partner, Emily Dorsey, her Famous Dave's family and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
