Mary Jane Collins

Apr 25, 1937 — Jul 25, 2026

Marbury

Mary Jane Dent, Queen, Collins (better known as MaryJane) was born on April 25, 1937, to the late William and Mary Dent, she was just that special that she had a second Mom, the late Cecilia Warren. Mary Jane was called home on July 25, 2026, at her home with family and friends. On August 2, 1958, Mary Jane married John "Jimmy" Queen and 11 children were born. She then later met and married Phillip Collins, and they enjoyed each other up until his death.

Mary Jane loved being around family and friends, going to the casino, playing cards, bingo and cooking; especially on Sunday's. You could find Mary Jane cooking home cooked meals on Sunday while her radio would be playing. As you walked in the door you could smell her sweet potatoes. She would love to see Jimmy Gray and his wife Glenda and Debbie Swann come over; she would say "I have my card players". The love they had for her was real. We could not forget her boo, Margie Day. She would smile and say My Boo.

Mary Jane was educated in Charles County School. She worked at McDonough High School in the kitchen. She left the school to be a cook at Charles County Nursing and Rehab until she retired at age 65. Mary Jane decided to sit home for a while until she went back to work in the kitchen at Genesis Health Care in LaPlata until she turned 70 and she began to enjoy her retirement.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husbands, Phillip Collins and John Queen, son John "Butch" Queen; daughter Barbara Ann Queen; grandson Antonio Cobey and Demonte Johnson; sister's Sarah Proctor, Thelma Montgomery, Annie Stewart, Nellie Davis, Ethel Jones and Betty King; brother's William Dent, and John Johnson; sister's-in-law Bert, Annie, Delores, Cecilia Isadore, Pauline, Naomi, Cathrine and Louise.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories; daughters, Linda Kelton (Ernest), Mary "Dot" Jennifer, Carolyn Bowman (Ivan), Karen Price (Floyd), Phyllis Chew (Lionel), Cathy Payton (William); Son's Anthony "Vincent" Queen, William "Joe" Queen (Yvonne), Elroy Queen (Margie); Sister's Margie Baltimore and Emma Lee; brother Andy Johnson; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grand children; 2 Sister's-In-Law Dollie Reeves and June Proctor; 2 Step-son's James "Sonny" Riely and Rudolf "Bootsy" Riely.
