Mary Glady's Coates (Age 72) of Waldorf, Maryland.

Mary Glady's Coates, affectionately known as Glady's and Ms. Glady's by many, transitioned into eternal peace on Friday May 8, 2020. Glady's was educated in the Charles County Public School System. Glady's is the daughter of the late Henrietta Ford and Joseph Kelly.  In September 1966, Glady's married Paul Eugene Coates from that union they had four daughters.

Glady's enjoyed time with her family, especially Sunday dinners and family gatherings. Holiday dinners were a favorite, she shook her head every time someone would request she make potato salad, her specialty. She had a love of crossword puzzles planting flowers, talking to her friends on the phone and reading her bible. One of her biggest joys was carrying on with her grandchildren, she was the brunt of their jokes but never without a snappy comeback.

Glady's is preceeded in death by her late husband Paul E. Coates, her parents the late Henrietta Ford and Joseph Kelly, her brothers Ernest, James, John and William. Her sisters Catherine and Lucille, her brothers -n-law John Price, Bernard Montgomery and Marvin Plater, sisters-n-law Frances Ford, Rachel Coates and Theresa Young, two nephews Joseph Ford and Jerome Lyles Jr.

Glady's leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Theresa, Gail, Frances and Vonnessa (Chauncey) Beard, Her companion Leo C. Butler Jr. Bonus children Frances, Keith and Ronald Butler and Lawan Knott.  Seven grandchildren Joseph Jr, Jamaar, Paul and Kirsha Young, Joshua and Justin Thompson and K'la Coates. Eight great-grandchildren Bianca, Vicari, Milan, Jamir, Jayceon, Kamyra, Khalil and Mariah. God Children Angela Jacks, Michael Jenifer, Preston Long, Stacy Thompson and Catherine Ford. Three sisters Frances (Jerome) Lyles, Elaine (Daniel Jenifer and Shirley Montgomery. Two brothers Charles (Sheila)Kelly, Tommy (Helen) Jenifer. Sisters-n-law Dorothy Ford, Barbara Ford, Anna Mae Toye, Helen Hargrove, Janet (John)Long, Virginia Plater, Betty Jenifer and Lucille Price. Brothers -n-law Bruce (Linda)Jenifer and David Jenifer, Roland and Walter Butler. Special friends Sherlette Johnson, Edna Johnson and Shirley Middleton among many others.

Her Viewing will be 4:00 pm, Prayers, 5:00 pm, Service, 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A.  Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 20, 2020, St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  Interment, Church Cemetery.
