Mary Beatrice (Ford) Washington, 94, of Bryans Road, Maryland.

Mary Beatrice (Ford) Washington, affectionately known to most as "Bea" was the eldest child born to the late Antoinette and William Ford on October 31, 1923 in Issue, Maryland.  She entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 5, 2018 at her home in Bryans Road, Maryland.  Bea was raised in Southern Maryland and was educated in the Charles County Public School System.

She met and married the love of her life, the late Raymond Washington in December 1938.  During their marriage, they were blessed with two children, the late Thomas Bernard Washington and the late Gloria Marie Washington.

Bea was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway in Clinton, Maryland and a member of the Sodality.  She was also an employee at the church.  She retired from the church in 1988 after many years of faithful and dedicated service.

Bea enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family and friends.  Everyone enjoyed her homemade Lemon Meringue Pies, Jams, Jellies, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chili.  She also had a love for flowers and most definitely had a green thumb.

In addition to her parents and children, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Thomas, Vincent, Sylvester and Allen Ford; three sisters, Dorothy Ford, Agnes Chase and Martina Dyson; and one grandson, Thomas Washington.

Bea was the matriarch of her family and her memories will live on through her three sisters;  Mildred Munson, Margaret Inez Matthews and Ann Roberta Johnson; one brother, Matthew Ford (Mary); one daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean Washington; eight grandchildren, Jennean Hodge (Michael), Alaina Thompson (Harry), Roxanne Washington, Kevin Clagett, Coretta Washington, Agatha Cobey, Anthony Washington (Gwen) and Cecil Washington (Audrey); 17great-grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing, 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Prayers 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.  Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Piscataway Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735.
