Mary Elizabeth (Washington) Allen departed this life and entered a life of eternal peace on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Autumn Lakes Healthcare Center in Laurel, Maryland. Mary was born April 4, 1932 to Marie Etta Washington and Thomas Blair.
Mary was educated in Prince George's County Public Schools and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School. Mary was a lifelong member and a devoted Catholic at the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway in Clinton, MD.

Mary's career goals were many, which included cook at Hot Shoppe in Marlow Heights, and Royal Formal Bridal Wear. Mary also worked at the Naval Ordinance Station (Naval Surface Welfare Center) as an ordnance worker. Mary retired from the Naval Research Laboratory af-ter 15 years of service, as a warehouse foreman. After retiring Mary began Foster Parenting, she loved those kids and they loved her.
One thing about Mary Allen, she lived and enjoyed life to the fullest, she especially loved her grandchildren and great grand children. Her enjoyment for dancing was never ending. She really enjoyed going to the casinos.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband William Allen, Sr., brothers Charles Briggs, Thom-as, Joseph, James, and Vincent Washington, sister Gertrude Jameson. Sons William and Robert Allen, daughters Sheila Washington and Marion Ware.
She leaves to cherish many fond memories her two sons Sylvester and Charles Allen Sr., son in law Malcolm Washington, brother Jarriett Washington (Barbara), a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, godchildren Thomas and Alesia M. Washington, Special Neighbor and Friend Jackie Baker and Gloria Milstead, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Peacefully, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 Mary Elizabeth (Washington) Allen transitioned to eternal life at Autumn Lakes Healthcare in Laurel, Maryland.
