Marvin Arnett Marbury was born on June 9, 1949 in Pomonkey, Maryland to the late Felix A. and Pearl Sedessa Marbury. Marvin also affectionately known by family and friends as "Heavy" or "Dogg," departed this life peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He was 74 years young.

In 1978 Marvin married Louise Marbury. From this union one son, Damien Marbury, Sr. was born.

Marvin attended Charles County Public Schools, graduating from Pomonkey High School.  After graduating, he followed his deepest love and passion and became a tractor trailer truck driver. Marvin worked for various truck companies, but he ended his career at Jimmy Richards Company.

Marvin was a great father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. Marvin's life was devoted to his family and friends. He was a very easy-going person; always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the task. Marvin had a way of encouraging you with a hearty laugh, joke or a knowing look.

When Marvin wasn't on the road driving his tractor trailer, he was happiest spending time with family/friends in the DMV. He enjoyed watching drag racing (on tv and in person), cowboy movies and helping on the family farm. Marvin loved being outside in the fresh air, working in the yard, on his tractor trailer, or sitting on his front porch. He also enjoyed taking his daily walks and enjoying the scenery.   Marvin was a hard worker and was always looking for something to do. He will be truly missed.

Leaving to mourn his memory: his beloved son, Damien Marbury, Sr. (Tina); sister, Jacquelyn Washington (James); brothers: Reginald Marbury (Darnisa) and Philip Marbury (Jacqueline); grandson: Damien Marbury, Jr.; a very special cousin Benjamin Hamn "brother" and a host of other family and friends.
