Marion A. Butler (Age 87) of Accokeek, Maryland.
Marion A. Butler was born June 29, 1931 to the late Elizabeth Mary Brown and James Cecil Brown in Accokeek, Md.
Marion received her formal education in the Charles County and Prince Georges County Public School systems, where she graduated from Pomonkey High School. After graduation, she continued her education studies at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md.
In October 1950, Marion married the late James Butler and out of that union they had six lovely children.
She worked at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, Md. for many years during her career tenor. Marion loved life to the fullest through the simple pleasures of life, such as watching her favorite TV shows "Wheel of Fortune", "Let's Make A Deal", "Judge Judy", "Family Feud" and "Dr. Phil". Marion enjoyed bowling and spending quality time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, game nights, eating crabs, and having deep positive conversations on various topics. She had a love for baking and decorating cakes, she was especially known for her delicious pound cake.
Marion A. Butler, age 87, peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on Monday May 20, 2019 at her residence in Accokeek, Md. During her illness she was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers. She is survived by her children, Marcellus Butler, Ponjola Short, Cynthia Butler, Denise Butler and Desiree Lewis (Patrick); Sister, Alice Gray (Joseph); Grandchildren, Antoine Short (Shanetta), Krystle Lewis Johnson (Jerron), Desmond Butler, Dominique Cole (Taye), Nicole Butler, Michael Butler, Brittany Lewis, Jenelle Lewis and Brandon Butler; Great-Grandchildren, Amani Price, Paris Hayes and Andrew Short. Marion is also survived by a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her Son Cornellus Butler and Grandsons Adrian Short and Terrell Lewis.
Her Viewing will be, 9:00 am, until time of Service, 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 Grace United Methodist Church, 11700 Old Fort Road, Fort Washington, Maryland 20744.
Interment, Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
