IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marie Lorraine
Marbury
June 10, 1952 – December 30, 2018
Marie Lorraine Marbury (Age 66) of Waldorf, Maryland.
Marie Lorraine Marbury, affectionately known to family and friends as "Lorraine" or "Rainey" was born on June 10, 1952 in Washington, D.C. to Elizabeth Eulalia and the late Bernard Elush "Sonny" Thompson.
"Rainey" was a 1970 graduate of Lackey High School. On June 2, 1973 she married the love of her life, Thomas "Dwain" Marbury and from their union, Kammie and Tironn were born. She was a devoted mom and was proud of both of her children.
For a season, "Rainey" was employed by St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Washington, D.C. and the Naval Ordnance Station, Indian Head. Her final occupation was as an Admissions Officer with the Cheltenham Youth Facility.
Rainey enjoyed trips to Virginia Beach and Atlantic City. She loved her family but being surrounded by her grandchildren gave her the most enjoyment and she often supported them by attending their sporting events. Another favorite was family cookouts and gatherings at her mother's home. She also enjoyed listening to the sounds of Smokey Robinson and the Temptations. However, for Rainey, nothing quite beat sitting down to some well seasoned crabs and her favorite drink, Pepsi.
In 2014, Rainey suffered a stroke, and although she never fully recovered, with the help of her devoted husband, "Dwain," and the love of family, she lived life to the fullest extent possible still drinking her Pepsi!
On Sunday, December 30, 2018, Lorraine "Rainey," quietly stepped into eternity while at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, MD. Her family will always remember her giving, caring and kind ways.
In addition to her father "Sonny," preceding her in death are sister, Colleen Proctor, father-in-law, Thomas Marbury, step-father-in-law, Numa Sylvie, brothers-in-law, Steve Press, and Dwight Marbury and good friend, Carolyn Calhoun.
In addition to her mother, "Eulalia," left to cherish many memories are her devoted husband, Thomas Dwain Marbury, children, Kamatha "Kammie," (Bradford "Brad") Farmer, Tironn (Shamese) Marbury, grandchildren, Diego and Dylan Farmer and Tishae and Samiera Marbury, sisters, Patricia "Patsy" Gray and Elizabeth "Althea" (Julius "June") Bynum, brothers, Oliver (Felicia) Proctor, Bernard "Day Day" (Keesie) and Joseph "Buddy" (Nita) Thompson, mother-in-law, Madeline "Tat" Sylvie, sisters-in-law, Denise Hargrove and Deborah (Paul) Smith, brother-in-law, Donnell Proctor, aunts, Evelyn, Doris, May and Joyce and a host of nieces, nephews, good friends, Sandie Proctor "Peaches," Phillipa Taylor, Frank Calhoun, Cliff and Lynn Posey and other relatives and friends.
