In Loving Memory of Margaret Louise Powell
Margaret Louise Powell, age 99, peacefully departed this life on April 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and the grace of God. Born on July 17, 1926, to the late Daniel and Annie Wells, Margaret lived a long, beautiful life rooted in unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and a heart devoted to service.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward A. Powell; her lifelong companion, Frank Johnson; her cherished daughter, Joyce Ann Fowler; her siblings; and many other dear family members who welcomed her home into eternal rest.
Margaret leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted children, Edward “June” Powell and Diane Johnson (Tyrone); along with a rich and loving legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her love forward. She is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends, including special friends Anthony H. Ford, Ronald “Chuck” Thompson, Eric Walker, and Deloris Henderson.
A faithful and devoted member of Shiloh Community United Methodist Church, Margaret’s life reflected her deep relationship with God. She was known for her gentle strength, her nurturing spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel seen, loved, and valued. Her kindness was a blessing to many, her wisdom a guiding light, and her compassion a reflection of Christ’s love in action.
Margaret’s life was a beautiful testimony of grace, resilience, and enduring faith. She leaves behind a legacy not only of family, but of love, kindness, and a life well-lived in service to others. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Her viewing will be held from 9:30am until time of service 11:00am on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Shiloh Community United Methodist Church, 12705 Shiloh Church Road, Newburg, Maryland 20664. Interment Church Cemetery.
