Obituary
Margaret Ann Butler more affectionately known as "Peggy" was born April 6, 1951 in Newport, Maryland to the late Joseph E. and Mary E. Butler. She transitioned to eternal life on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Margaret was educated in the Charles County Public School System. She worked for the Charles County Board of Education from which she retired. She continued to work at the Family Dollar Store in La Plata, Maryland.
Margaret enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. Her second love of life was playing poker with her family on Fridays and Sundays. She always prepared enough food on Sundays to feed anyone who came through her door. Her home and her heart were always open to people who needed her guidance, advice and support. Margaret had several hobbies such as knitting, sewing and playing bingo. She was a fun-loving person and loved her sisters and brothers. Margaret was considered the "boss" of the family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph and Joseph Butler; sisters, Louise Edelen and Audrey Cutchember and granddaughter, Shanita Butler.
She leaves to cherish fondest memories her sons, Melvin and Mark Butler; daughters, Agnes Miller, Pamela Makle and Nikki Duckett; grandchildren, Johnnie Rosier, Jr., Kendra Craig, Tyrell Butler, Roderick Purce, Jr., India Butler, Eyvonne Miller, Mark Butler, Jr.; sons-in-law, Robert Miller and Roscoe Makle; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Butler; sister, Debra Price; brothers, James T. Butler, Leo Butler, Dale Butler and Thomas Butler; brother-in-law, David Price; sisters-in-law, Mary Butler and Cynthia Butler; aunts, Agnes Yates, Betty Bonds and Lelia Hicks; uncle, Leo Butler; fiance', Joseph Gant. Also surviving are step grandchildren, Chania Miller, Roscoe II, Tiffany and Katrina Makle, Corey Johnson and Kristen Butler and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
