Lydia Ann (Marshall) Johnson (Age 86) of Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Lydia Ann Johnson was born on November 15, 1929, to the late Bernard and Mary Janie Marshall in Waldorf, Maryland. She was 86 years old when she departed this life on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
Lydia was educated in Charles County and attended Pomonkey High School. After high school she went to work full-time at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, Maryland. After 30 years of Federal Service she retired in December 1980.
Lydia loved the Lord, her family and friends dearly. Lydia loved being retired which lead her to become active in various endeavors. Lydia loved being a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Parish family where she was member of the Sodality. Lydia loved her home, spending time with family, her independence, participating in different senior groups, learning to play the piano, listening to music, dancing, bowling, playing bingo, attending birthday parties, attending social events and watching the Washington Redskins.
Lydia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles M. Johnson; three brothers, Leroy, Joseph and James Marshall; three sisters, Juanita Marshall, Hazel Duckett and Joyce Marshall; and her son, Gregory Johnson.
Lydia is survived by her children: Linda Marshall, Vincent "Chucky" (Barbara) Johnson, Thaddeus "Marvin" (Karen) Johnson, Machell (Sidney) Conway, Deborah Johnson and Wayne (Yuneek) Johnson, Sr. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her two sisters and one brother: Audrey Briscoe, Mary "Betty" Proctor and Robert Marshall; six grandsons: Kevin Johnson, Michael Johnson, Anthony Conway, Terence Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Jr. and Justin Johnson; two sisters-in-law: Lavern Yates and Dorothy "Dot" Johnson; a special cousin: Barbara Chase and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
