Obituary

Lucille Butler Washington (Age 92) of Capitol Heights, Maryland.

Lucille B. Washington peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, April 8, 2019. She was born in Newburg, MD to James and Alice Butler. She later graduated from Bel Alton High School; moved to Washington, DC, where she met and married the love of her life David E. Washington (deceased), and from their union two daughters were born Fran W. Taylor (Mike) and Yvette W. Buck. Her career spanned 38 years in the federal government with the U.S. State Department, and Navy Annex, plus an additional 20 years part-time for Woodward & Lothrop.

She devoted her life to family, and enjoyed church, music, sports, and reading until she became legally blind. She continued to spread her contagious smile, warm hugs and lots of love to anyone who was in her presence.

She is also survived by two grandchildren Cameron and Kendall Buck; great-grandson Damani Dowell; sister Mary B. Thomas; brother-in-law William J. Thomas; special friends Dorothy Morgan and Frances Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her Viewing will be, 10:00 am, until Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am, Friday, April 12, 2019, St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 408 Addison Road South, Capitol Heights, Maryland 20743.  Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735.
