A Time To Be Born —

Lola Worthington, also affectionately known as Ola Bey, Bey and Lola B, was born
September 27, 1917 to the late Martha and Frank Worthington, in Green County,
North Carolina.

A Time To Every Purpose —

Lola B was baptized at an early age at White Oak Grove Church in Pikeville,
North Carolina, where she attended church regularly. She attended public
schools in Green County, North Carolina. In her early years, she also lived in
Goldsboro, North Carolina. In 1968, she moved to Washington DC, where she
lived with her daughter, Pat. Shortly after moving to Washington, she continued
her spiritual journey at the Faith Temple #2 Free Will Baptist Church in Seat
Pleasant, Maryland. Lola B worked at Hadley Hospital in southeast Washington
for a number of years before becoming a child care provider. She "raised" her
grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and many more children.

A Time To Build Up —

Lola B loved her family and friends. She loved to read her Bible, oftentimes reading
it several times a day. Another great pastime was putting together puzzles. Lola B
also had a great love for dolls, and over the years, she acquired quite a collection.
She loved to crochet dresses for her many dolls, and she also crocheted throws and
doilies. Another great love -– baseball. Not only did she enjoy watching a baseball
game, she loved to play. When she was younger, she could be seen playing baseball
with family and friends in the alley behind the house in southeast Washington.

A Time To Die —

Lola B quietly slipped away to be reunited with her Heavenly Father on Friday,
July 15, 2011 at the Fort Washington Rehabilitation Facility in Fort Washington,
Maryland.
