Lois Nicole ?Danielle? Patrice Watson-Green, 23, daughter of Valerie Rochelle and Joseph Edward Green stepped into eternal life. She was born on April 13, 1984 at Malcolm Grow Medical Center in Camp Springs, Maryland.
Danielle was educated in Charles County, Maryland and her love for learning became evident at an early age. Danielle was extremely intelligent, yet unaffected by her own brilliance. She was gifted in so many areas. Although small in stature, she was athletic, excelling in the areas of track, soccer, and basketball (point guard) and even made time for cheerleading. She was artistic, both in her ability to play the piano and draw, and she had a tremendous sense of humor, and often was the ?clown? in the group. Finally, she had the heart of a child with a fascination for ?Tigger? from the Winnie the Pooh Series.
In addition to various jobs she held during her high school and undergraduate years, in 2006, Danielle was employed by NASA as an Intern in the Summer Institute in Engineering and Computer Applications Program. She also worked with Dr. Shaheen Islam at Brookhaven National Laboratory in the National Synchrotron Light Source Lab receiving a $10,000.00 payment for her research. Others benefited from her love for learning and her vast knowledge as she tutored students in undergraduate levels of physics and mathematics.
Danielle was a graduate student at Devry University in North Carolina double majoring in Network and Communications Management. She received dual degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2006 from Virginia Union University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, in the top 5% and ranking #5 in her class. She also graduated in the top 5% of her class ranking #14 with a 4.1 out of 4.0 grade point average from Maurice J. McDonough High School class of 2002. The accomplishments and accolades that Danielle received during her brief life far outnumber those of most older adults and are too numerous to name them all.
Danielle was a joy to her parents, and a cherished member of her family. Even at birth, her female relatives all had input in naming her as evidenced by her many names. She was proud of them all. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
On June 16, 2007, while enjoying time with friends at Carolina Beach in Wilmington, North Carolina, Danielle succumbed to the forces of nature, drowning in a rip tide. Don?t be discouraged though, for she continues to live, maybe not with her earthly parents but with her heavenly Father!
Danielle was preceded in death by her grandfather, Douglas Nathaniel Watson, great grandparents, Theodore and Florenda Stringer, first cousins, George Ellis, III and James Maurice Gray III.
