IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Norvel
Jeffcoat
October 13, 1985 – January 3, 2022
Larry Norvel Jeffcoat, 36 of Waldorf, Maryland.
Larry Norvel Jeffcoat was born on October 13, 1985 in Washington, DC to Ms. Mary A. Jeffcoat and the late Mr. Larry D. Becton. Larry, affectionately known as Vel, Dad, or Big Larry, was educated in the DC Public School System where he graduated from Eastern High School in 2003. He went on to continue his higher learning education at Virginia Union University (VUU) in Richmond, VA. After college, Larry returned to DC where he started his career as a Security Officer with Securitas Critical Infrastructure Services in Dumfries, VA, where he was employed for fifteen years.
Larry, a gentle giant, a confident, kind, and compassionate young man was loved by so many - just to know him, was to love him. He would help anyone that was in need. His smile and sense of humor could brighten up anyone's day. Larry loved spending time with his family and friends and did so as often as he could. Whether it was a family game night, a random get-together or a cookout, Larry absolutely adored being around his family and friends. He loved fashion - he had a great eye for putting outfits together from hats down to his shoes. Some of Larry's favorite past times were watching his beloved Washington Football Team (Redskins), the Chicago Bulls or Wrestling. He also loved listening to music, especially Go-Go. His favorite was the Backyard Band (BYB).
On April 23, 2011, during one of the BYB shows and hanging out with his boys, was when Larry first met Danielle Robinson. It was a day to remember as they found friendship that quickly turned into love. After dating for four years, Larry proposed to her on Christmas Day 2014 and they were later married on April 23, 2016.
In 2019, Larry, along with his wife and mother made a lifestyle change, moving from Southeast DC to their new home in the suburbs of Waldorf, MD. It was there, in his home where he spent his final days, surrounded by family and friends. He closed his earthly eyes and succumbed to the battle of cancer on January 3, 2022. No more suffering – no more pain.
In addition to his father, Larry Becton, Larry was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ellen Becton and his maternal grandparents, Agnes and William B. Jeffcoat; uncles, Floyd and Robert; aunts, Alberta "Birdie" and Charlotte and cousins, Kenneth and CarDarius.
He leaves to cherish precious memories – his beloved wife, Danielle Jeffcoat; loving mother, Mary Jeffcoat; grandfather, James Becton, Sr.; brothers, Tori and Joshua; aunts, Barbara, Arlene, Beverly, Billie, Carolyn, and Sondra; uncles, William R., Andre, Daniel, James "Scoot", Leslie and Billy; father and mother-in-law, Horace and Laverne Bynum; nephews, cousins, friends, and a beloved fur baby named Snow.
He is forever loved and will be truly missed by many!
