IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Landis Duwayne
Lewis
May 31, 1951 – March 13, 2014
Lewis, Landis Duwayne (Age 62) of Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Landis "Duwayne" Lewis was born May 31, 1951, in Washington, DC to Rosalie Scott Lewis and the late Willie Landis Lewis. After leaving DC Public Schools, Duwayne went to work for the Architect of the Capitol, in Washington, DC, where he worked for over ten years, assisting in delivering furniture and helping to set-up Congressional Offices. He enjoyed his job and his co-workers. Duwayne, also worked for several small contractors where he cleaned Government Office Buildings and drove Airport Shuttles.
Duwayne was an easygoing, fun loving, happy-go-lucky kind of person who always kept family and friends laughing; he could always find humor in any situation. He was definitely a Mama's Boy. He loved living at home and never ventured very far except to live in Detroit, MI for a short-time, to be closer to the Motown scene and his favorite singing group, the Four Tops.
Duwayne departed this life on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his home in Oxon Hill, Maryland, after a short battle with cancer.
In addition to his mother Rosalie Scott Lewis of Oxon Hill, MD, he is survived by three daughters, Rosalind Lewis, of Laurel, MD, Tiffawny Lewis Green (Steven), of Upper Marlboro, MD and Jenna Lewis, of Philadelphia, PA; son, Michael C. Williams, of Oxon Hill, MD; three granddaughters, Zeni Ruffin, Nia Alston, and McKenzie C. Williams; five grandsons, Adbur-Rahim King, Bagari Ruffin, Noah Green, Steven Green, Jr. and Joshua Green; one great grandson, Jeremiah Marks; three sisters, Jacqueline Lewis Dickens (William) of LaPlata, MD, Teresa Lewis of Oxon Hill, MD and Shari Lynn Lewis of Oxon Hill, MD; brother, Ronald E. Lewis (Vanessa) of LaPlata, MD; three nephews, Ronald Lewis, Jr. (Subree), Yahron Lewis (April) and Brandon Lewis (Tonya); three nieces, Kristie Dickens, Amber Lewis and Sierra Washington, four aunts, Mable Lewis, Cora Hamilton, Julia Warren (Albert) and Helen Lewis; one uncle, Clayton Lewis, Jr. and a host of cousins and other relatives.
Duywane leaves a tremendous void in the lives of all who loved and knew him. He will be truly missed forever!
