IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kline Irvin
Walton
January 10, 1947 – December 9, 2023
Kline Irvin Walton, age 76 of Indian Head, Maryland
On Saturday, December 9, 2023, Kline Irvin Walton peacefully transitioned into eternal peace at Restore Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, Maryland. Kline was born on January 10, 1947, to Benjamin Harrison and Roberta Carroll Walton in Pomonkey, Maryland. He was the youngest of nine children. He resided in that same house until his passing.
Kline attended Charles County Public Schools and graduated from Pomonkey High School in 1964. He attended Morgan State College in Baltimore, Maryland for one year. Deciding to take a different route, he went to work at the Naval Plant in Indian Head until his father became ill and he returned to work in the family business, Walton's Market, with his brother Carroll. On 'Market Days,' Kline worked with his brother Rodney selling fish, crabs, and other seafood items at the outdoor market at the then RFK Stadium. He enjoyed the freedom and flexibility of self-employment, and his adventurous spirit led him to explore the many options life has to offer. Thus, his famous saying:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but to rather skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW! What a Ride!"
Kline married Yvonne Kenner and from this union he had one daughter, Stacey Nicole Walton, who was the love of his life.
While Kline is gone from our sights, he will never be forgotten, and he will live on forever in our hearts. But picture this, Kline sitting in heaven under a huge oak tree in a lawn chair 'shooting the breeze' with his buddies Gary Jackson, Charles 'Rip' Washington, Dr. Carter, Randolph Dunnington, and his brother Vernon, talking about any and everything from sports, fishing, cooking, wine making, and so forth. Kline is all well now and in a happier place.
Kline was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Roberta Walton, brothers Bennett and Vernon, and sisters, Shirley Johnson and Barbara Tyler. One brother-in-law, Eugene M. Johnson.
Kline leaves to cherish his memory two brothers: Rodney (Kimberly) and R. Carroll Walton and one sister, Vera Walton Merritt. Nephews: Eric and Jeffrey Johnson, Corey W. Walton, Sr., Tyrone Wilson (Sharon), and C. Arron Walton (Tonya). Nieces: Melody Garrett, Karen Johnson, Rochelle 'Shellie' Walton. Tracy Ellerbe (Hubert), Tina Tolbert (Michael) and a host of other family members and friends.
A limb has fallen from the family tree
That says Grieve Not for Me-
Remember the BEST TIMES,
The laughter, the song, the good life
I lived, while I was strong!
