Kevin Darnell Savoy, age 62, of Indian Head, Maryland

Kevin Darnell Savoy was born on April 9, 1962, and was the eleventh born out of fifteen children to the late Richard "Ray" and the late Elizabeth A. "Hazel" Savoy at Prince George's Hospital, Cheverly, Maryland.  He slipped peacefully into eternal rest on September 1, 2024, at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland.

Kevin was baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Baden, Maryland. He was a strong believer of Christ which was evident in his unyielding prayer life for his friends and family. Kevin remained active in his Catholic Faith until his passing.

Kevin was with his devoted companion and love of his life, Ann Marie Proctor, for 40 years and from this love they have two loving sons; Matthews and Kalvin, and two granddaughters; Zayla and Aligha , two Grandsons; Amir and JaKaleean. Kevin was known for so many wonderful things; his sense of humor, positive attitude, his unwavering strength and his helpfulness no matter how big or small, you could always count on Kevin to be there. Most of all Kevin enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Especially with Marie, Matthews, Crystal, Kalvin, Janawon and with his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy and they fulfilled him with so much love and happiness.

Kevin was educated in the Saint Mary's County public school system.  At a young age Kevin developed a strong sense of responsibility; so, after school he would work doing odd jobs to help his parents with expenses.  He was known to have an "old soul" in a "young body." When he was in his early twenties, he started working for the Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission (WSSC) until he retired in 2014.

Predeceased by his mother and father, Hazel and Ray, brothers; Marvin, Bobby, Eddie, Junior and sister, Doreen, sister-in-law, Salome, nephew, Nick, great nephews; Devaughn and Darrell, and close friends, Mark and Joyce.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his loving and devoted companion, Marie, sons; Matthews and Kalvin, loving and caring daughters-in-law; Janawon and Crystal, grandchildren; Zayla, Aligha, Amir and JaKaleean, companion's devoted mother, Shirley Proctor, siblings; Herbert, Janie,  Alice (Ronnie),  Gene  (Karen), William  (Christine),  Karl  (Cindy),  Tommy (Roxanne), Alan (Marilyn),  Jimmy (Jackie),  Rose (Earnest)  and Brian (Tosha),  companion's siblings; Chrissy, Jackie, Wanda (Darryl), Sherri, Jerry (Lina), and goddaughters; Kyra, Vicky, Valerie, and Cristina, godson, Tydell, and also several nephews and nieces, cousins and many, many friends.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday, September 12th from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment immediately to follow at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery Waldorf, Maryland.
