IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin B.
Hawkins
May 30, 1988 – August 3, 2017
K evin B. Hawkins, peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 3, 2017. Kevin was born May 30, 1988 in Washington, D.C. He was the oldest son of Sabrena Olivia Hawkins-Johnson and Samuel Aloysius Johnson, III. Kevin attended school in Prince George's County and District of Columbia, and obtained his high school diploma from Jefferson High School. He later attended TESST College of Technology where he would earn his Electrician Certification.
Kevin always dreamed (BIG!) , and no one could tell him any different. He always had a strong belief in making that "money," and would energetically tell you, "He was going to run that check up!." One of his favorite positions was at the Lake Presidential Golf Club where he would brag about "hanging with the millionaires." Kevin was a hard worker in everything that he did, and his fun personality rubbed off on everyone he worked with at UPS, Home Depot, and FedEx Field.
Kevin loved his family with every fiber of his being; he was a strong, loving, caring, loyal, and protective man. He did not play when it came to his "Ma -Dukes," sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, and especially his son, Shamir — and don't even think of playing with his money or his cake.

Kevin gave his life to Christ at a very young age and would dance the chairs apart. He would tell his mother that nothing feared him but God. He first came to Christ under the teachings of Overseer Geneva Rious at Evangelistic Deliverance Church. And even though he went astray to the streets, he returned to Christ and rededicated his life under the teaching of Apostle Darryl E. Hamilton of Greater Refuge Ministries, now Greater New Mount Joy Ministries, where he clapped off-beat and shouted, but most importantly, blessed others with his testimony. Kevin will be met with open arms from those whom preceded him which include, his grandfather, Oscar C. Hawkins, Sr. and his grandmother, Elaine Johnson. Also, he leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Sabrena Olivia Hawkins-Johnson; his father, Samuel Aloysius Johnson III; his son, Shamir King Hawkins; Siblings, Tiauna Hawkins, Keresha Hawkins, Robynne Hawkins, Asiah Hawkins, Samaiya Johnson, QuaTazia Johnson, Samuel Johnson IV; Brother from Another, Demetrius Embrack and Charles Ragland; Sister from Another, Erika Jackson; Nephews, Tionne Embrack, Markus Newby, Dejion Johnson; Niece, Lamiyah Woodard. Grandmother, Adrian Hawkins; Uncles, Oscar Hawkins, Jr. (Abner), William Hawkins (Virginia), Delaunte Hawkins (Tamara), Terrell Hawkins; Aunts, Yasmine Taylor and Moesha Taylor. As well as a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and close friends.
