Kent Leroy Smith, Sr., or, more affectionately known as "Snoodie" or "Silk" was born on March 17, 1967 to Shirley Ford (Miss Mary) and the late Ernest Smith.  He departed this life peacefully in the early morning hour on March 24, 2018 surrounded by family.  Kent was of the Christian faith.  He was an entrepreneur and was the founder and owner of Smith Landscaping Company. He enjoyed sports and the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite team.  He also enjoyed dancing, boxing and karate. Kent was passionate about his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was also very particular about his appearance.

Kent was preceded in death by his grandparents; Viola and Leo Ford, aunts; Mary Thompson and Rosalee Proctor, uncles; Cecil, George and John Ford. He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish memories, the special lady in his life, Jessica Thomas (Britany and Tevin), daughters; Nikita, Shirnelle and Shirneka Dixon, son; Kent Smith, Jr., grandchildren; Nathan and Noelle Dixon and Arrian Holland, sisters; Brenda Ford, Lisa Smith, Maxine Ford (Steve), brothers; Joseph Ford (Linda), Carl Ford (Renee), nieces and nephews; Tony Washington, Emanuel Savoy, Latisha Cornish, Andre Baker, Trevon Baker, Ashley, Sydney Ford, Tysean Washington, Kauavion Ford, Tameka Ford, Arshay Lee-Ford and DeAsia Yates, best friend; Denise Gray and various uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
