Keith Darnell Swann, Sr. (Age 54) of Fort Washington, Maryland.

Keith Darnell Swann, Sr. was born June 21, 1962 in Washington, DC to Purcell and Juanita Swann. He was the youngest of three sisters and two brothers. He departed this life on October 19, 2016 at Washington Hospital Center.

Keith accepted Christ at an early age at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Pomfret, MD. He graduated from McDonough High School. While in high school, Keith was very active in sports, playing basketball, football and running track. Immediately after high school, Keith joined the U.S. Navy where he played football for the Navy. After returning home he attended Charles County Community College, receiving an AA Degree in Business Administration. While there, he helped coordinate the Disabled Students Awareness Week where students and staff tried out wheelchairs, walkers and crutches to gain an understanding of the obstacles facing disabled people.

Most of Keith's working career was in Administration with Metro Access and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Keith was an avid sports fan, but most of all he loved the Washington Redskins, win or lose.

Keith was a kind soul and loved his family and friends. He enjoyed family gatherings. Keith had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone he knew that was in need. He was truly a person who celebrated life and lived it to the fullest.

Keith passed away after a long and courageous battle as a result of his paralysis. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family as he made his ascension to Heaven.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Keith Swann, Jr. and stepson Jamaal Brown; father, Purcell (Jean); mother, Juanita; two brothers, Ricky (Aisha) and Gregory (Laura); three sisters, Patti Carter, Kim Stewart (Tony) and Annette Swann; four nieces, Sabrae Hilliard, Tanika Bordley, Dannette Dixon and Dakota Swann; three nephews, Russell Spencer, Jevon Stewart, and Donte' Swann; two great-nieces, Sheena Hilliard and Skye Marsh; two great-nephews, Russell Hilliard and Samuel Thompson; two devoted friends, Daryl Blue and David Chase, as well as many other family and friends.

Visitation, 12:00 pm until time of Memorial Mass, 12:30 pm, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway, 13401 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735.
