Julia Annette Brown, Age 93 of Waldorf, Maryland.
A Reflection of Life
On July 20, 2016 on the wings of a dove Julia Annette Brown was called home by her lord and savior who knew she was tired and ready for her eternal rest in his heavenly arms. Julia was born on July 4, 1923 to the late Reverend Alexander and Martha Brown in La Plata, Maryland. She was one of thirteen children.
Julia was baptized in Catholic faith and was a faithful churchgoer until her health declined. Julia was educated in the Charles County Public School System. She was a domestic housekeeper for five families while raising her five children Anthony (Tony), Alice (Marie), Barbara, Joann and James (Jimmy).
Julia was an active member in the Ladies Auxiliary # 301 Knights of St. John International in La Plata and the Willing Helpers Society. She was an avid bowler in the Knights of St. John and the A.F.G.E. Saturday Nite Mixed bowling leagues. She loved to travel and often subbed with the Classic Ladies Bowling Club. Her closest friends and travel companions were Mrs. Leila Hicks and Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Joann and eleven of her twelve siblings. She leaves to mourn and rejoice in her home going are her four children Tony (Sharon), Marie (Kenny), Barbara (Len) and Jimmy (Margaret), her brother Nathaniel (Janice), her grandchildren Michael (Shelia), Kevin, Kim, Leonard (Linda), Anthony Jr. and Charisse, her thirteen great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Viewing 8:30am to 9:30am, Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am, Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, Maryland. Interment Church Cemetery.
