JAMISON, JOYLA LYNN (AGE 46) OF WALDORF, MD

On Sunday, June 10, 2012, our beloved Joyla L. Jamison peacefully passed away after her two year battle with cancer. Joyla Lynn Smith was born in Houma, Louisiana on May 31, 1966 to Jack Smith Jr. and the late Diane Smith.

Joyla was raised in California where she attended elementary and high school. This is where she met her lifelong friend Shelly Skeete Benton. She went on to attend Howard University in Washington DC, but returned to California where she received her BA Degree in Economics from San Francisco State University. She used her education and life experience to achieve her greatest business accomplishment and become President and Founder of The National Association of Black Mortgage Brokers.

While she was a devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, she much enjoyed traveling, and was an avid poker player. But the love of her life are her two children Jade and Jaren from her former spouse, Noel Jamison.

Left to cherish special memories of her are her daughter, Jade Jamison, son, Jaren Jamison, father, Jack Smith Jr., aunt, Rose Price, sister, Trena Smith, brother, Armand Smith, nephews, Tyrus Hairston and Valon Smith, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her viewing will be held on Saturday, June 16th, 10am until Service 11am, Lighthouse Baptist Church, 3150 Middletown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20603. Interment Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
