Joseph Luke Poole, Jr. (Age 46) of Waldorf, Maryland.

OBITUARY

Joseph Luke Poole, Jr. was born August 16, 1970 to Bettye Jean Gray and Joseph Luke Poole, Sr. in Washington D C.  He was the youngest child of Bettye Jean, and the eldest child of Joseph Luke Poole, Sr.  He departed this life at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 9 , 2017 in his 46th year.  He was baptized in 2001 at Open Bible Ministries.

Joe, was affectionately known as Peanut to many.  Joe was educated in the Washington DC school system where he attended Leckie Elementary, Hart Junior High and graduated from Ballou Senior High School.

Joe loved football, basketball and other sports, he loved watching his son and grandson play football and basketball.  He coached for the St. Charles Bears in Waldorf, Maryland for several seasons, he really enjoyed the time he spent with the children on the field.  Joe's knowledge of sports was a gift from God.  He joined an online blog commentating on sports and other topics, this was medication for his spirit and he enjoyed every minute.  He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and giving his opinion of the game and other life events.

After school Joe worked for Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for over 12 years.  Joe learned the skills of IT technology (Information Technology) while he worked for the CIA where he worked his way up the career ladder.  In 1992 Joe married Carthornia LaVonda Lee the love of his life.  Two children were born of that union Ja'Lessa and Ja'Wan which brought so much joy to his heart.  After completing his assignment with the CIA, Joe ventured over to Arlington County Government and learned so much more, being mentored by several experienced technicians, Joe just kept moving up in his career.

Joe had several close friends yet, he always enjoyed sending time with his best friend, Joe McKinney and his buddy, Mike Reed along with the crew from Ballou Knights, class of 1989.

Joe loved his family unconditionally!  Joe was a loving husband, devoted father, a wonderful son and a kindhearted brother.
Joe you will be missed by many just as you were loved by many!

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lavonda, his daughter, Ja'Lessa, his son, Ja'Wan, his grandson, Ja'Von, his mother, Bettye Jean Gray, his father, Joseph Luke Poole, Sr. (Alberta), his mother-in-law, Dorethea Jones, his grandmother-in-law, Lillie M. Jones, his brother, Michael Gray (Stacy) and his sister, Josephine Poole; one niece, four nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.  His favorite aunties, Lillie Thigpen and Sheron M. Jones had a very special place in his heart. He always said I love those girls!

Joe was so amazing because he found a way to love everyone!!!
