Obituary

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Joseph Leroy Dorsey, Sr. was called home by God's angels. Joseph, more affectionately known as "Joe Boy" was born November 10, 1960 to Agnes Theresa Dorsey and the late Francis Leroy Dorsey.

He was educated in the Charles County Public Schools and graduated from La Plata High School in 1978.  Joseph was employed with American Home Improvement in Waldorf until 2014 then he started detailing cars.

Joseph had a caring, loving heart always with a big smile on his face.  He enjoyed spending time with his son, granddaughter, family and friends. He also enjoyed his extracurricular activities which included: lawn care, home improvement, listening to music, dancing, watching his favorite tv shows, and most importantly his favorite football team the "Baltimore Ravens", he never missed watching a game. He also loved going on his daily walks, and loved telling stories and jokes. We will truly miss our "Joe Boy". He will be in our hearts forever and never forgotten.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Agnes Elaine Dorsey.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Agnes T. Dorsey, son, Joseph L. Dorsey Jr. "JoJo", daughter-in-law, Porcha Dorsey, grand daughter, Jaida Dorsey, brothers, John Dorsey, Melvin Dorsey, William Dorsey, Elroy Dorsey and Travis Dorsey, sisters, Alice Makle, Angel Cole, Margaret Dorsey, Rita Dorsey and Alice Burroughs, four sisters-in-law, Gloria Dorsey, Tanya Dorsey, Renae Boxley and Agatha Miles, three brothers-in-law, Mardoney Brinkley, David Dorsey and Paul Burroughs and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Friends may visit with the family, Thursday, May 27th from 10am until time of service 11am in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD. Interment to follow at Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
