On September 16, 2023, the Lord called John A. Patton home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (A.K.A) Peggy Patton. His father is John Patton, Sr.

He was educated at D.C. Public Schools. Veteran of the United States Army.

Kind, sweet and gregarious. Often you could hear his laughter before you saw him. Always lend an ear or offer kind words to others. You would never know when he was troubled because John complained very little.

Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy was his favorite game shows. Trivia was his forte. We knew not to interrupt him doing these shows. John along with family members were part of the audience of Jeopardy at Constitution Hall. Oh, what an exciting evening that was! Also, John enjoyed music. Parliament, Bootsy Collins, and the Ohio Players were just a few bands he enjoyed.

John leaves to cherish his lifelong partner, Denise Gold. Sons Shaun, Chris and Kevin Gold. Granddaughter Kaiyah, his best friend and brother Marvin, his sister Gwen and a host of relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, October 20th from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment private.
